Five police officers including Jari Aarnio himself, the former head of Helsinki police anti-drug unit, are suspected in the allegations surrounding the former police boss.

Three police officers worked under Aarnio while one officer is from the security police-supo and is linked with the surveillance company Trevoc- related bribery allegations.

The three officers who worked under Aarnio have been accused of breach of office offences but are not suspected to be involved in the alleged drug crimes faced by Aarnio.

According to the document instituting the proceedings, the trio helped Aarnio, among other things, apply for unwarranted electronic surveillance licences from the court.

According to the prosecutors, there was an attempt to undermine the evidence in the so-called barrel-ring case with the help of the licences.

All the suspected police officers have denied the allegations.
