A body suspected to be that of a Finn has been recovered on the Russian side of Vuoksi River, said the police on Monday.
According to the Russian authorities, the body was recovered from the Svetogorsk power plant.
The police suspect the body is that of a person who was reported missing in Imatra back in March.
Apparently, documentation of the man reported missing was found together with the body.
The Russian authorities will continue with the identification procedure. At the same time, investigation to determine whether there was involvement of crime in the incident will be conducted.
After the confirmation of identity, the body will be transferred to Finland.
