About 600 people in Helsinki on Friday staged demonstration in protest against the planned oil drilling in the Arctic sea region.
 
The protest organised by Green Peace called on Finland to withdraw from planned drilling orchestrated by the oil giants Shell in the Alaska Artcic sea area.
 
The protesters marched from Citizens' Square passing along the Arctic Shipping headquarters situated at Katajanokka distict of Helsinki.
 
Other groups of protesters sailed in about 40 kayaks and two inflatable boats also joined in the protest.
 
Police said the demonstration went peacefully.
