Residents at a summer cabin in Lappeenranta discovered their 84-year-old neighbour drowned on the bank. The woman had been alone at her cabin.
According to police, the woman went swimming on Friday evening and either had a seizure or drowned while swimming.
Police are investigating the death as an accidental drowning.
In Savitaipale, an elderly man drowned while boating.
The Rescue Department received notification of the incident a little after 10 o'clock on Saturday.
Police are investigating.
