Finland's southeast Border Guard suspects that three foreigners crossed the national border illegally at Parikkala, South Karelia last Saturday.
According to the Border Guard, it is suspected that the people came via Russia to Finland, having walked cross-country and then over the border.
As yet, preliminary investigations have not so shown how long a journey the travellers have had behind them. Their successful apprehension by the Border Guard was calm and there have been extended interrogations.
According to the Border Guard, observation by the general public contributed to the rapid success of the matter.
