The Supreme Administrative Court overturned an entry ban verdict of a United States crime suspect. According to the Supreme Court ruling, the suspect spouse hailed from the EU and they had a child together.
A family member of an EU citizen based on freedom of movement has the right to arrive in Finland. The suspect was accused of sexual crime in the US, but stated that it was not possible to get a fair trial in the US. The suspect revealed having received death threats. The Finnish Immigration Service, the Administrative Court of Helsinki, and the Supreme Administrative Court rejected the application.
The Supreme Court, however, overturned the previous decisions and the two-year entry ban. The Supreme Court is yet to make a decision regarding the deportation. More News
