The incoming police boss Seppo Kolehmainen is suspected of breach of official duty, reported commercial broadcaster MTV.
 
According to MTV, the suspicion relates to a case investigated by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on alleged work-place discrimination and bullying which took place at the Police University College.
 
The alleged events took place in the period between November 2010 and January 2013 when Kolehmainen worked as the rector at the Police University College and later at the National Police Board.
 
Kolehmainen is suspected of abuse of official duty and breach of obligation to cooperate. He confirmed the suspicions to MTV.
 
The aggrieved party is a retired police who is reported to have experienced discrimination and work-place bullying at the Police University College.
 
Besides Kolehmainen, the current rector at the Police University College, Kimmo Himberg has also been interrogated as a suspect in relation to the case.
Himberg is suspected of breach of official duty, breach of cooperation obligation as well as abuse which according to MTV is practically mental abuse.
 
The pre-trial investigation was completed a year ago. The case is still to be evaluated for consideration of charges. Kolehmainen was appointed the new National Police Commissioner in June.
