Fri, 24 Jul, 2015 01:49:47 AM FTimes- STT Report, July 24 File Photo Lehtikuva. The Conscripts’ Association (Varusmiesliitto) has expressed concern at the ability of the Defence Forces to deliver clean underwear to the conscripts.
In a statement issued by the association on Thursday, based on conscript accounts, the interval between exchanges of laundry is stretched up to three weeks.
According to the association, the laundry change is especially overstretched during field practice.
The association has asked the government to pay attention by ensuring that conscripts have sufficient access to frequent exchanges of accessories.
The association believes the suitable time span for an exchange of accessories should be once a week.
Defence Forces Communications Director Eero Karhuvaara estimates that a three weeks’ interval between exchanges of laundry is not very common.
Karhuvaara agrees with the association that interval of one week between exchanges of accessories is appropriate.
