The police detained seven people in the aftermath of Saturday’s Neo-Nazi demonstration in the eastern town of Jyväskylä.

Two of the arrested are Swedish nationals.

In all, fourteen people are suspected of being involved in the riots or being part of violent rioting.

The seven persons detained are suspected of either leading the demonstration or being involved in assault. Seven others who had earlier been arrested were set free.

The demonstrating was prepared for violence, revealed the lead investigator, Mikko Porvali.

This was reinforced by the fact that the demonstrators were found to be in possession of shields and bandages, among other things.

The group also recorded their activities during the whole episode.

According to the police, it seems the Swedes who took part in the demonstration have connection to the Swedish Resistance Movement.

It will be determined whether the seven suspects will be remanded as the investigation progress.

The police on Saturday had to use force and arrested a number of people to calm down a demonstration by the right wing group Finnish Resistance Movement in the town of Jyväskylä, central Finland.

The demonstrators assaulted three people in the city centre of Jyväskylä.

Two of the victims suffered contusions and bruises while one other suffered minor injuries.
