The chair of Perussuomalaiset (Finns Party), Timo Soini said the selection of Sebastian Tynkkynen to the position of third vice chair of the party is not a slap on the wrist directed to the party hierarchy.

Tynkkynen views his appointment to the post as a soft blow to the party leadership which is not sufficiently anti-euro.

However, Soini said a case of reprimand would have been so, if there would have been a credible candidate to oppose him for the party chairmanship or if the first or second vice chair would have been replaced during the party elections.

According to Tynkkynen, the Finns Party should quit the government, if the government does not insist on having Greek’s third rescue package arranged from European Stability Mechanism (ESM) procedure.
