The popularity of Vihreä liitto (Green League) has risen to its highest point this century during the current party leader Ville Niinistö's stint at the helm, according to survey by a Finnish language daily, Helsingin Sanomat.

The support of the party currently stands at 11 percent, while during the spring elections, the party garnered 8.5 percent of the votes.

According to the survey, 23.2 percent of the respondents would vote for Keskusta, 17.6 per cent for Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party), 16.7 per cent for Perussuomalaiset (Finns Party) and 14.2 percent would vote for Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue (Social Democratic Party of Finland--SDP).

According to the Helsingin Sanomat, SDP result is worst in its survey history.

The survey was conducted by TNS Gallup in which 2,400 people participated. The margin of error is +/-2.
