The hunting grounds of Eastern Finland are preparing for the bear hunting season which starts on Thursday.

Hunters are expected to arrive in good time before the start of the hunt and familiarise thoroughly with hunting terrain.

Reliable information about the bear routes is more expensive than gold.

This autumn season has seen permits granted to shoot 133 bears throughout the country of which the reindeer herding accounts to 52 animals.

The number of nationwide bear-hunting permits granted has increased compared to last year.

The waiver has especially increased in Kuhmo where the hunting license has increased to 12, up from last year's five.
