Police suspect two sports department employees in the fatal ski jump crash of a 16-year-old girl in Herttoniemi ski centre on August 29, reports MTV. Interrogations into the suspects will begin this week.

The girl died when she fell from her plastic seat onto the hill and collided with a cable. Additionally, two girls who dropped onto the hill at the same time were injured.

According to previous information, the cable had been on the slope for at least 30 years, and the installer of the cable is unknown.

Police are investigating the ski jump accident in Herttoniemi Helsinki last August as a death due to negligence. The criminal allegations are based on the fact that there was no warning about the tightened cable, and the ski jump area was only partly fenced off.
