The Finnish Border Guard arrested a suspected human trafficker at the Helsinki Airport on Thursday.
According to the Border Guard, the suspect, a Swedish national, brought in a foreign person from Austria.
Furthermore, the suspect attempted to bring in six more foreigners who did not have proper documentation on the same flight.
The suspect was also found in possession of travel documents which had been reported stolen or lost by Interpol and Schengen authorities’ data registry.
The suspect was detained on Tuesday and was on Thursday remanded in custody in suspicion of organising entry of illegal persons.
The Border Guard is cooperating with the Swedish and Austrian police.
