The popularity of Perussuomalaiset (Finns Party), the second largest component of the three-party ruling alliance has dropped by more than four percentage points, according to a survey commissioned by the national broadcaster Yle.
 
The party’s support according to the Yle survey stands at 10.7 per cent rendering it the fifth most popular political party in the country.
 
The Vihreäliitto (Green League) with a voter support of 12.7 per cent leapfrogged the Finns Party to the fourth place.
 
The last time the Finns Party’s popularity dropped this low was back in August 2010.
 
At the same time, the Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue’s (Social Democratic Party of Finland) support increased by four percentage points to 18.3 per cent becoming the second most popular party in the country.
 
The voter support for Suomen Keskusta (Centre Party) fell by over one percentage point in a month. The party which now enjoys 21.7 per cent voters support is still clearly the most popular party.
 
The Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party) is the third most supported party with 18.3 per cent.
 
The survey showed that the popularity of the government parties has dropped to 50.4 per cent while that of the five opposition parties has jumped to 48.1 per cent.
 
Taloustutkimus interviewed 2,898 people between 7th of September and 6th of October. The margin of error was +/-1.5 per cent.
