According to the eastern Finland police, two smoke bombs were thrown at the reception centre set up in the Tarina hospital and caused a lot of smoke in the centre’s courtyard.
The police arrested three local residents, all of them men and 17 to 18 years old, from the nearby forest area.
The police are investigating the crime as vandalism.
Police Sergeant Antti Nissinen told the Finnish language newspaper Savon Sanomat on Monday that the men who threw the smoke grenades were drinking alcohol.
“Young men, who thought this was a way to liven up their weekend,” the police official remarked.
Alcohol had its share of blame, Nissinen told the newspaper.
According to the newspaper, the building was not damaged by the illegal act.
