A refugee reception centre came under attack at Hennala, while gunshots were fired near a minor refugee accommodation centre at Espoo on late Saturday night.

The police said three window panes were shattered after bricks were hurled at the Hennala reception centre’s lounge.

A few persons were there in the lounge, but none was injured.

Two men fled the scene, but so far they have not been identified.

Meanwhile, in the other incident, the police arrested an intoxicated man who fired a flare gun near a recently established asylum reception centre in Espoo.

The action of the 47-year-old man, however, did not cause any damage.

The police said the act will be investigated as a firearm crime, because the gun was structurally modified.

The new reception centre unit which accommodates minor asylum seekers was opened by the Rinnekoti Foundation in September. The foundation produces and delivers services for persons living with intellectual or developmental disorders.

Elsewhere in the country it was largely peaceful. The police in different parts of the country told the news agency STT that areas near reception centres on Saturday morning and evening were peaceful.
