A man was found murdered in an apartment at downtown Varkaus in North-Savo late Friday night, the Eastern Finland police said on Saturday.
The police initially termed the incident a brutal murder and investigation in this regard is going on.
A police patrol found the deceased in his one-room apartment, after they had been notified of the death. The homicide had been called into the emergency response centre.
The police arrested a suspect who confessed the homicide during interrogations early Saturday. The case is being investigated as a murder.
Both the victim and the suspect are from Varkaus. The victim was born in 1971, and the suspect in 1974.
