The District Court of Pirkanmaa on Friday sentenced nine men for their involvement in country´s largest ever haul of amphetamine trafficking.

Of the nine convicts of the drug smuggling case, four were sentenced to 10 years in prison for aggravated drug offenses.

One suspect was sentenced to eight years for aggravated drug offense, and another for two years and eight months as an accomplice in aggravated drug offense.

The mildest sentence handed down was a three-month conditional imprisonment.

None of those sentenced are Finnish citizens. The court ordered the extradition of some of the convicts to the Netherlands to carry out their sentences.

Fifty four kilograms of exceptionally strong amphetamine and hashish were brought from Netherlands to Pirkanmaa.

The street value of the amphetamine is estimated almost three million euros.
