The Eastern-Uusimaa police are investigating a serious allegation of rape and aggravated child sexual abuse involving an exceptionally young victim.
The victim in this case is a six-year-old girl, whereas the suspect is a 40-year-old man who was taken into custody less than a month ago.
Senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Kimmo Hyvärinen said that the man admitted to being with the girl and was involved in spreading pictures of the victim to different parts of Finland.
He has not, however, admitted to being guilty of the charges brought against him.
The police would not at this stage reveal the trail that led to the pinning down of the case. The criminal suspicions were reported by MTV on Friday.
