Aarnio case
FTimes- STT Report, Dec 24

Instructions given by the Helsinki police leadership to the witnesses in Jari Aarnio case has resulted in a request for investigation, reported the Finnish language tabloid Iltalehti.

The newspaper reported that Helsinki police chief Lasse Aapio, who has testified in court in support of Aarnio, is a suspect.

Officials confirmed to the Iltalehti that the request for an investigation is true. They would not comment, however, in any more detail as to the contents of the request.

According to the Iltalehti, the subjects of the investigation are suspected of issuing audible threats during at least two meetings, in which police chief Aapio accosted police witnesses in the Aarnio case. Helsinki narcotics officers testified in early December that police chief Aapio had held meetings and asked witnesses to choose sides in the case.
