The Finnish authorities on Wednesday released a Russian detained earlier this month.
The man was taken into the custody because of a US-issued Interpol warrant, reported the Finnish language daily Ilta-Sanomat.
The man’s arrest was widely reported by the Russian media.
Russian news agency Tass announced the man’s release on its website. Finland’s foreign ministry confirmed the release of the Russian national to the Finnish news agency STT.
According to Russian information, the man was apprehended in Finland on December 19.
