The Defence Forces’ emergency stocks have dwindled due to a lack of funds over the last four to five years, Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Jukka Juusti told the Finnish language tabloid Aamulehti.

According to him, the Defence Forces are using up their supplies faster than they can be replaced.

According to Juusti, it is impossible to detail publicly just how much the emergency stocks have declined. However, in his view, supplies are not at a critical level.

The new secretary general also has a position on the relationship between Finland and the military alliance NATO.

According to Juusti, it’s a complete illusion that Finland is considering NATO membership.
