It is quite common for female politicians to experience sexual harassment, but few have faced harassment at their workplace in parliament, reported the Finnish language daily Savon Sanomat.
The Savon Sanomat supplementary magazine asked female politicians about their experiences of sexual harassment and to give evidence. About one-third of those asked, equivalent to 27 MPs, responded.
Only three of them had experienced, heard or witnessed sexual harassment at parliament.
However, half of them had experienced sexual harassment at some point in their life.
Six respondents said they had experienced sexual harassment in situations related to their political career. One also mentioned an incident of harassment through social media.
