According to the court, the 32-year-old man arranged the entry of four foreigners from Austria to Finland on four separate occasions.
They paid the convict between 1,150 and 1,600 euros. In the court’s view, the convict was operating on instructions from a third party which is part of organised crime.
The District Court stated that the convict had taken advantage of people that were in a vulnerable situation. The man justified his actions by saying that his large family was in need of financial assistance.
Aggravated human trafficking is punishable by up to six years in prison.
