The backlog of asylum applications has reduced following an increased number of decisions made.
The number of decisions made on new applications has more than doubled, said Juha Similä, head of the Asylum Unit at Finnish Immigration Service, in a Tweeter feed.
“The queue is shortening,” Similä tweeted on Tuesday.
A total of 238 asylum applications were lodged in just over a week’s time. During the same period, 486 decisions were made, Similä said.
The Immigration Service on Monday said 1,257 people had applied for asylum since the start of this year.
