Sun, 14 Feb, 2016 12:10:13 AM FTimes – STT Report, Feb 14  File Photo – Lehtikuva. Two middle-aged men were killed in a collision between two passenger cars at Koivikko district area in Kitee on Saturday.
Quoting witnesses Eastern Finland police said that the northbound car was passing another car at high speed and as it returned to its own lane, it fishtailed and collided with another car coming from the opposite direction.
There was another passenger, an elderly man, in the southbound car, who was seriously injured.
He was taken to the central hospital.
At the time of the collision, there was normal winter weather at the scene of the accident, the south side intersection of Main Road 71 and Highway 6.
Traffic remained suspended for a short period on Highway 6 between the Syrjäsalmi bridge and Puhos after the accident.
