Sipilä believes that the whole government may be of the opinion that the proposal is too rigid regarding Finnish citizens.
“It may be up to the interpretation of the whole government. Let us see what happens,” Sipilä said.
The government’s party representatives have already criticised the proposal, according to which Finns must have a monthly net income of 2,600 euros in order to bring a spouse and two children from outside the EU or EEA into Finland.
The government’s proposal goes into circulation for comments on Friday.
“After the comments come, there will be time to modify it, and in this way, it’s a good thing,” said Sipilä.
