The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Tuesday arrested five men from Suo-musjärvi in Salo on suspicion of the attempted robbery of the G4S vehicle transporting cash last month.
 
At the same time, the police searched a number of houses and properties managed by the suspects, as well as their vehicles.
 
The police have received many tips from the public. The NBI will continue its preliminary investigation through, among other things, interrogations of the suspects, as well as going over the investigative materials.
 
The police previously estimated that five or six people participated in the attempted robbery.
 
A group of armed criminals tried to rob a GS4 vehicle carrying cash on the highway between Turku and Helsinki on February 25. 
 
The criminals stopped the vehicle by blocking the road and forced the driver out at gunpoint. 
 
The driver was injured in the incident. The criminals fled the scene without any money in vans which were later found abandoned in a parking area nearby.
 
The vans used were a gray Ford Transit and a blue Mercedes Vito.
