Three people were killed in two separate train accidents at Hyvinkää and Kitee late Sunday night and Monday, Rescue Department sources said.
 
A young woman was hit by a train and killed at the Hyvinkää railway station on Monday. The accident occurred at the north end of the station after noon.
 
Rail traffic was suspended for about half an hour. Due to the accident, three trains were delayed by 20-40 minutes.
 
The train involved in the accident was en route to Helsinki. It was delayed for more than 2 hours.
 
Two others girls, aged 15, died on Sunday after being hit by a train in Kitee, in North Karelia. According to the Rescue Department, the accident occurred about a kilometre north of the Kesälahti station.
 
The Rescue Department said the victims were on foot.
