The deputy chief of the Eastern Finland police, Reijo Tapio Lakanen has been accused of treating some junior officers in ill-manner.
 
The revelation was made by Lakanen’s lawyer Jarkko Jaatela, who said the deputy police chief would not make any further comment on the affair.
 
According to the prosecutor, Lakanen is accused of name-calling and threatening four junior women officers. 
 
One of the women officers was further left uninvited to three common events.
 
The ill-treatment took place in 2012-2013, said the prosecution. 
 
The offences have been specified as work safety offence, violation and assault during official duties.
 
The trial began on Tuesday at the District Court of Vantaa. The report was first run by the commercial broadcaster MTV.
