Majority of the Finns believe that the three-party coalition government led by Juha Sipilä is not promoting Finland’s best interests, found a survey commissioned by the Finnish language daily Iltalehti.

More than half of the respondents believe that the present government is managing Finland’s interests badly or not at all.

About one-third of them assessed the government’s successful advocacy as fairly well, while only three per cent said the government was doing very well.

Those most satisfied with the government’s handling of Finland’s interests were older respondents.

According to the poll, the majority of 65-79-year-olds, for example, believe that the government represents Finland’s interests well.

The poll was conducted from April 20 to April 26 with more than one thousand respondents participating.

The margin of error is about 2.5 percentage points in either direction.
