The court also overturned in the appeal the appropriation of evidence not related to the suspected crimes.
“It is the court’s decision, and we will go along with it,” said lead investigator Detective Chief Inspector Jari Illukka.
The proceedings were ordered secret at the request of the police.
Axl Smith is suspected of secretly recording multiple sexual partners. The police are investigating into the acts on suspicion of voyeurism.
Illukka declined at this stage to divulge details on what other offences may also be under investigation.
