The main opposition Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue (Social Democratic Party of Fin-land-SDP) was the most popular party in the country in April with 21.5 percent of the sup-port, according to the latest poll commissioned by national broadcaster Yle.
 
The support for Social Democrats improved by 1.2 percent compared to the previous poll.
 
The ruling Suomen Keskusta (Suomen Keskusta) with voters support of 20.4 was the second most popular party during the month. 
 
The Centre Party support shrank by 1.3 percent in April.
 
Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party), another component of the three-party alli-ance government whose support dropped by a percentage point, was third in the polls with 17 percent of the support.
 
The popularity of opposition Vihreä liitto (Green League) rose to record levels at 13.5 percent.
 
The popularity of another ally of the government, Perussuomalaiset (Finns Party) on the other hand dropped to 8.5 percent losing a percentage point in April.
 
The opposition Vasemmistoliitto (Left Alliance) closed the gap and tied with the Finns Party.
 
The support for Suomen ruotsalainen kansanpuolue (Swedish People's Party of Finland) and Suomen Kristillisdemokraatit Christian Democrats of Finland (Suomen Kristillisdemokraatit) in April was 4.5 percent and 3.6 percent respectively.
 
According to the polls, the government parties combined support dropped. 
 
The support for the three coalition parties in April was 45.9 percent compared to 57 percent during last year's spring parliamentary elections.
 
More than 4,300 people were interviewed by Taloustutkimus in mainland Finland in April and early May. The margin of error was +/-3 percent.
