According to the draft bill, a new criminal offence in the name of influence peddling would be entered in the penal code.
Parties guilty of influence peddling would refer to those who offer or ask for a fee in order to influence decision-making.
According to the draft law, decision-makers include lawmakers, government officials and municipal decision-makers. The crime could also relate to cross-border activities.
The penalty for influence peddling would be a fine or up to two years in prison. Corporations could also be subject to fines under the new law.
The draft law has now been submitted for consultation.
