Three activists from the environment watch group Greenpeace on Tuesday climbed the mast of the state-owned icebreaker Otso at Katajanokka, Helsinki.

The climbing took place at seven O’clock in the morning.

The activists are opposed to the ice breaker participating in Arctic oil drilling.

“Arctic oil is of no use to the world which is solving climate change. The exploration of new sources of oil is irresponsible,” said Greenpeace activist Aino Tuomi-Nikula in a statement.
