Thu, 09 Jun, 2016 01:03:15 AM FTimes- STT Report, June 9 File Photo Lehtikuva. The ruling Suomen Keskusta (Centre Party) has reclaimed the top position in popularity with a 20.2 per cent support, according to the latest survey conducted by the national broadcaster Yle.
The main opposition Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue (Social Democratic Party of Finland-SDP) dropped to the second place with 20.1 per cent popularity. Both the Keskusta and the SDP slid 0.2 and 1.4 percentage points respectively from the previous survey.
The Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party) remained the third most supported party having gained a 17.7 per cent support. It has improved by 0.7 percentage points from the previous survey.
The Vihreä liitto (Green League) achieved a record high support of 14.8 per cent. The party has seen its support base rise for two consecutive polls.
The Perussuomalaiset’s (Finns Party) support also increased to 9.0 per cent, posting a 0.5 per cent rise from the April’s poll.
The support for the Vasemmistoliitto (Left Alliance) was at 8.3 per cent, Suomen ruotsalainen kansanpuolue (Swedish People’s Party of Finland) at 4.2 per cent, and Suomen Kristillisdemokraatit (Christian Democrats of Finland) at 3.5 per cent during the May’s poll.
Under the survey conducted by Taloustutkimus, a total of 3,858 persons were interviewed on 9 May-7 June. The margin of error was +/- 1.3 per cent.
