Thu, 21 Jul, 2016 12:09:45 AM FTimes – STT Report, Jul 21  File Photo – Lehtikuva. The Roihu camp, or Finnjamboree, started on Wednesday in the Evo campground of Hämeenlinna with more than 17,000 scouts attending.
Roihu is Finland’s largest ever scout camp.
About 3,000 foreign scouts from 45 different countries will be participating in the Roihu camp.
In addition to European countries, scouts are coming from Hong Kong, Nepal, Mexico, and New Zealand, among other places.
Roihu marks the seventh scout jamboree in Finland.
File Photo – Lehtikuva. The last scout jamboree in Finland was held in 2010. Finland’s second-largest scout camp was held in Hanko in 1996 where 14,500 people took part.
The Roihu camp programme is structured around different themes, such as experience, global education, well-being, creativity, water, and entrepreneurship. About 3,000 volunteers are responsible for organising the camp.
The camp continues until Thursday, July 28.
