A Somali man convicted for murder and rape will be deported to Somalia after the end of his imprisonment term in Finland, reported the commercial broadcaster MTV.

Abdigadir Osman Hussein was sentenced to life in 1996 for the murder of a 15-year-old schoolgirl from Tampere.

He had earlier been convicted for raping a 13-year-old girl.

According to MTV, Hussein is to complete his sentence in September following a Court of Appeal decision. The court justified their decision since the convict has served nearly 20 years in prison, and that he has been studying during his sentence and does not use drugs.

Inspector Liisa Lintuluoto from the Helsinki police told MTV in an interview that the police are aspiring to have Hussein deported as soon as possible after his release.
