The District Court of Kanta-Häme placed a man to remand for erupting clashes between locals and refugees in Forssa.

He is suspected of robbery and issuing illegal threats at the locality, police said.

The 18-year-old suspect was among the group of Finns who clashed with asylum seekers near the Saksankuja reception centre on Tuesday.

The suspect's role in the fight is yet to be confirmed.

The young man is, however, suspected of robbing a refugee on August 20.

The youth was also present when a 15-year-old boy was assaulted at the yard of departmental store Prisma on Monday.

The police said that the perpetrators during the assault were of foreign background.

The arrested is also suspected of illegally threatening a refugee.
