The incidents of fires on boats have been increased in the country during the recent years, report-ed Finnish language daily Savon Sanomat.
Within five years, the number of boat fires has been increased by a fifth, said the report.
The cause for the increase of the fires could not be known.
Last year the rescue departments were informed of 46 boat fires which is more than two fires more per week for the whole boating season.
Also this year the administrative workers were informed of many serious cases where people had to be rescued from water as their boats had caught fire.
In the early 2010s there were still less than forty boat fires per year.
