Särkänniemi dolphins Leevi, Delfi, Veera, and Eevertti have become acquainted with their new home at the Attica Park dolphinarium near Athens in Greece.

According to Särkänniemi Managing Director Miikka Seppälä, the dolphins will be doing educational presentations at Attica Park. The presentations will begin after the period of their adjustment with the new habitat.

For the educations presentations, the dolphins will be doing tricks similar to those done at the Särkänniemi dolphinarium, but without objects such as rings or balls.

The presentations will also feature, for example, the anatomy of dolphins, their history, and potential threats.

“The educational presentations will show what dolphins do in nature. It may be beneficial because the animals are not in favour of doing nothing,” Seppälä said.

Seppälä said, at first, the dolphins from Särkänniemi will have their own pool, and later they will be moved into the same pool as Attica Park’s other four dolphins.

The Attica Park authorities, however, declined to make comment to the news agency STT on the transfer.
