The Helsinki District Court on Monday began the main hearing of the Auer information leak case which involves more than 10 suspects.

The prosecutor demanded punishment for suspected breach of official duty or, alternatively, for negligent violation of official duty.

The prosecutor spoke of indicting a total of 55 police officers and other officials for unauthorised viewing of Anneli Auer’s data.

Monday’s hearing covered 12 suspects.

According to the commercial broadcaster MTV, one of the suspects did not obey the summons and she is now a wanted accused.

In 2011, many inquiries on Auer were made from the Information System. Most of the inquiries came when news broke about Auer being imprisoned.

Most of the suspects have denied committing the crimes.
