July was an exceptional month in fire related death statistics, as there was no fire related death recorded, said the Finnish National Rescue Organisation-SPEK.

On the other hand, three people were burnt to death at different parts of the country in August, said SPEK.

“I did not find in the statistics such a month with zero (deaths), completely without deaths in fires. Otherwise the trend has been going down this summer,” said the head of the safety depart-ment of rescue service, Iipo Leino.

The organization records say that during the present decade the deaths in fire in July to August have decreased from eight to less than six.
