The police and border guard authorities of Finland and Estonia on Wednesday exercised a joint pacification practice of mass fights on passenger ships in the Gulf of Finland.
The first exercise was carried out between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m., with another exercise held in the evening.
The exercises were held under the leadership of Estonian authorities in Estonia’s territorial waters.
According to Police Inspector Niina Uskali of the Police Board, there were two large groups on the ships that simulated a fight. In the exercise, the authorities boarded the ships using, among other vehicles, boats and helicopters.
The exercise was to ensure cooperation between various authorities and the authorities of different countries in marine situations.
