Finland is ranked sixth on the United Nation’s list of countries achieving the objectives of sustainable development, reports the UKK Institute.
A total of 188 countries were ranked, with the top spot going to Iceland, and the bottom spot to Sierra Leone. Sweden outranked Finland and the other Nordic countries, taking the third place on the list.
The global results were encouraging for the promotion of health, particularly the reduction of child mortality, as well as increased opportunities for family planning. Access to health has also improved.
The world still faces health challenges such as overweight children, excessive alcohol consumption and violent deaths. There is also much to be done in reducing infectious diseases like HIV and tuberculosis.
