According to the police, a child under the age of one year was brought to the emergency care of a hospital as the child was feeling ill.
Later the child was taken to Kuopio University Hospital where it became evident that the child had been given drug replacement therapy, police said.
The police at a briefing on Friday said that the child's condition had improved and will be dis-charged from the hospital soon.
The matter will initially be investigated as aggravated assault.
