Refugees and local youths engaged in a clash early Saturday morning at Siilinjärvi in North Savonia.
The police said the incident took place at the city centre at about 2.40am.
Those who were involved in the clash suffered minor injuries, said the police. One of the injured was taken to the Kuopio University Hospital.
Detective Chief Inspector Arto Elomaa said an investigation is going on to ascertain the reason behind the incident and the persons responsible.
At the initial stage of the investigation, the police identified the people involved in the incident.
The matter will be investigated as assault. No person has so far been detained in connection with the incident.
