Rami Adham, a Finn of Syrian origin who has been linked with militants has a background of a number of convictions.

Adham also resigned from the main opposition party Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue (Social Democratic Party of Finland) in the wake of an outcry at the revelation.

According to the data collected from different courts by the news agency STT, Adham has been guilty most often of dope abuse, for which he has been fined.

In addition, Adham has received conditional imprisonment at least twice due to doping crimes.

The most recent STT data on convictions shows that last year the Helsinki Court of Appeals upheld a 60-day suspended prison sentence for doping offences.

The case involved Adham bringing 150 ampoules, each containing 250mg of testosterone enanthate, from Istanbul, Turkey.

Adham himself denied in court any culpability. He said a Turkish doctor had prescribed it to him due to a testosterone production problem.

According to a Finnish doctor heard by the court, the amount Adham brought was sufficient for about eight years. The court believes the document presented by Adham is not a legitimate prescription.

In 2010, Adham also received six months’ conditional imprisonment for an aggravated doping offence, a doping offence, and a drug offence.

A distributor of dietary supplements for famous athletes, Ahmad brought from Germany and Syria, via Turkey, a large amount of doping substances including several hundred tablets and ampoules.

Among the doping substances was chorionic gonadotrophin, which increases muscle mass without the side effects of anabolic steroids.

Adham said in court that the imported goods are for personal use only. Adham also has four convictions for assault.
