People dressed as pigs and clowns scared children on Tuesday in Tuusula, eastern Uusimaa, said the police.

The police said they received word from Lahela that two people dressed in pig masks and white overalls ran after one child. They were also scaring other children at around 9 p.m.

Those dressed as pigs were carrying baseball bats. They were moving around, according to the police, in a green Volvo station wagon, possibly with false licence plates.

The police asked for the Tuusula municipality surveillance camera footage from the Terttu playground. According to the police, the image is of poor quality, but some of the images were saved.

In addition to the Lahela case, the parent of three children reported that at around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, 10 people dressed in clown masks and dark overalls came to the Vaunukangas school to frighten others.

The parents of three children had been in the school playground when a gray van arrived and the clowns climbed out.
